Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the last poker table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest bettors around the world. While playing online poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He frequently plays in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus usually buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits for a decent hand and then goes all in. I know Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amount. I think tv can skew our perception of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might be guys you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be found participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes omaha high and hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money games?
