NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker player on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely would tell his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t let the negative feedback from others annihilate his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.

Phil started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to discipline and a continuing love for the game of poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a normal basis.
