Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only participant to achieve final poker table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest bettors in the world. While betting on internet poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless he is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the greatest poker players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amount. I believe television can skew our view of the real world at times. The greatest poker players in the world might be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
