Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the final table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best players anywhere in the world. While wagering on internet poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He often competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus generally buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I know Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has little or no reason to play at the game with the minimum buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I think tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best poker players in the world might just be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be seen competing in online poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha/8 and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in money games?
