Web Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the final game in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best enthusiasts around the world. While wagering on web poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 NL max buy in of $40, 000. Gus usually buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has little or no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the min takes a majority of the ability out of deep stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be 1 of the best players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amount. I believe television can alter our perception of the real world at times. The best players in the world might be players you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in money games?
