Web Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the closing table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest enthusiasts in the world. While gambling on online poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen usually buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all-in. I believe Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is flat broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is assumed to be 1 of the best players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amt.. I believe tv can skew our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world may be players you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found playing web poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in big stakes Omaha and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in cash rounds?
